In August, 2016, Mike King gave three presentations to students and parents/caregivers.
He altered his approach to suit each of the audiences. We invited him to help us to engage with the community to improve mental well-being.
He spoke of his personal experiences and certainly engaged the students in his presentations. His overall message was that we need to develop a culture of students being able to ask for help for their mental well-being. He emphasised that importance of a sense of hope during difficult times. It struck me that as a Catholic community we are a praying community and a community of Hope. His message is aligned with our values. The feedback which I received from parents and students was positive and showed that he did get his message across.
